Sheena Contacts Only When She Needs Money: Indrani told Rahul

Rahul, who was engaged to Sheena, had started recording conversations with Indrani after he began to distrust her.

Indrani Mukerjea, the prime accused in the Sheena Bora murder case, had told her step-son Rahul that Sheena spoke to her only when she wanted money, according to a transcript of their phone conversation accessed by CBI.

“The only reason she contacted me basically because she wanted money... There was no other reason that she wanted to contact me,” Indrani told Rahul in one of their telephonic conversations after Sheena disappeared, which he recorded.

Rahul, who was engaged to Sheena, had started recording conversations with Indrani since he’d begun to distrust her.

Indrani also told him she had not seen Sheena after 9.15 pm on 24 April 2012 (the day she was murdered).

Rahul, who kept trying to get information about Sheena after her sudden disappearance, was convinced at one point that Indrani knew about her whereabouts.

Indrani has got Sheena’s phone number and she found her. Indrani had her number all along... Indrani had cooked up a plan with Sheena.

Rahul told his father Peter Mukerjea

Peter, who is married to Indrani, told him that he had spoken to Sheena after 24 April, but all she said was “I am fine.”

The transcripts of conversations recorded by Rahul Mukerjea with his father Peter and Peter’s wife Indrani immediately after Sheena Bora ‘disappeared’ show that Deven Bharti – now the Jt CP (law and order) who was the additional CP (crime branch) in 2012 – was ‘Peter’s friend’ and ‘he was known to Peter very well for a very long time,’ reports Mumbai Mirror.

The CBI has recorded two statements of Bharti where he seems to be taking contradictory stands. His first statement recorded on 28 October 2015, says

Peter and Indrani approached him in 2012 to ascertain the location of Sheena’s mobile which he did ‘unofficially’ and informed them accordingly.

The second statement recorded on 26 November 2015 says

One or two days after requesting him (Bharti) to trace the location, the duo approached him again and said that “there was no need to proceed in the matter as they had traced the latest whereabouts of their relative.
