BJP MP Shatrughan Sinha on Thursday, 27 September, took to Twitter to ask Prime Minister Narendra Modi to break his silence over the Rafale deal.
Tweeting to PM Modi, Sinha said:
“Sir ji! Please break your silence and contradict former French President Hollande (since both of you were present in meeting) otherwise people will think he is speaking the truth.”
Shatrugan Sinha, albeit a BJP MP has been a vocal critic of the Modi government.
Previously on 22 September, too, he had asked PM Modi to come out to the public and take a stand on the Rafale deal.
The Congress has launched an offensive against the BJP government over the Rafale deal, alleging corruption and violation of rules by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It has accused the government of causing loss to the public exchequer and endangering national security by bypassing state-run Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) in favour of some businessman "friends" for offset contract.
