Riyadh, July 2 (IANS) Japanese Emperor Naruhito welcomed Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman at the Akasaka Palace in Tokyo on Tuesday.
The Crown Prince, also known as 'MBS', attended the G20 summit between June 28-29 in Osaka, where world leaders met to discuss international issues. He arrived in Osaka on June 27 from South Korea, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
Bin Salman conveyed the congratulations of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to the Emperor on ascending the throne, wishing him and the Japanese people further progress and prosperity, the agency reported.
During the meeting, the Saudi leader and the Japanese Emperor reviewed distinguished relations between the two countries and stressed the keenness of the governments of the Saudi Arabia and Japan to develop and enhance these relations in all fields.
The Crown Prince also visited the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum on Sunday, which was established in 1955 to commemorate the atomic bomb attack of World War II.
