Former Chief Justice of Delhi High Court Rajinder Sachar caused outrage at a pro-Islam conference at a college in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh by saying that the Hindus sell/eat beef more than Muslims on November 20,
Speaking at the International Conference on Radical Islam at the RC Degree College in Mathura, he further questioned the MPs and MLAs involved in beef trade.
The conference, according to a report by The Times of India, was attended by scholars from Afghanistan, Canada, and Bangladesh along with Indian scholars.
Few of them stormed off after Justice Sachar made the remark.
Justice Sachar was the chairperson of the 2005 Sachar Committee which submitted a report titled Social, Economic and Educational Status of the Muslim Community of India.
The report recommended increase in the employment for Muslims, and recognition of educational qualification provided by madarsas.
