- Four dance bars that were allegedly running without permission were raided by Mumbai police on Friday. While 80 people were arrested, 62 women in total were rescued from the bars, police said.
- The raids were conducted by the Social Service Branch (SSB) of Mumbai police at two bars in South Mumbai, and one each at Andheri and Ghatkopar. The women rescued from the four bars were later let off.
- All those arrested would be produced in a court today. The arrest was made under the provisions of the Maharashtra Prohibition of Obscene Dance in Hotels, Restaurants and Bar Rooms and Protection of Dignity of Women Act 2016.
