A pro-Tamil activist threw a slipper at former National Security Adviser (NSA), MK Narayanan, in Chennai on Wednesday.

Tamil Nadu police has detained one person in the incident that took place during an event organised for Sri Lankan refugees, reports The Hindu.

According to a report by The Times of India, the man was identified as Prabhakar, 35, of Pudukottai, Tamil Nadu.

Prabhakar is suspected to be a member of an organisation established in reaction to the killing of LTTE chief Prabhakaran in 2009, May-17 Iyakkam, according to the report.

Recently, pro-Tamil folk singer Kovan was also detained and slapped with sedition charges for singing against Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa.
