400 ex-servicemen were inducted into the enforcement wing of Delhi transport department to help in the implementation of the second phase of the odd-even scheme, which starts from April 15.

Transport Minister Gopal Rai said these ex-servicemen, who have now become part of the transport department, will be deployed on the roads to catch those violating the vehicle rationing scheme.

The government has formed 120 teams which will be deployed on roads during the odd-even scheme. Some of these teams will be deployed at ISBTs, railway stations, Metro stations and major entry points into the city. If autorickshaw and taxi drivers misbehave with passengers and refuse to ferry them, these teams will also accept complaints and take action against errant drivers.
