- On Tuesday, Delhi Transport Minister Satyendar Jain hinted at introducing the third phase of the odd-even scheme in Delhi during the winter. He said that the scheme doesn’t need implementation during monsoon as pollution levels are low, but more so in winter when they tend to peak.
- The first and second editions of the road-rationing scheme were implemented in January and April after which the Kejriwal government claimed that the pollution levels had gone down significantly in the national capital.
- However, some reports suggest there was no significant impact on pollution during operation of the scheme.
