NIA officer Tanzil Ahmad’s wife Farzana Khatoon passed away at AIIMS in Delhi on Wednesday. Tanzil Ahmad was shot dead on 3 April by two unidentified motorcycle-borne assailants over a “personal animosity” near Uttar Pradesh’s Bijnor town.

The NIA officer was shot 21 times when he was driving back home from a family wedding in Bijnor. While he died on the spot, his two children survived the attack and his wife, who sustained four gunshot wounds, was critical and admitted to a Noida hospital.
Police has arrested the two accused, Junaid and Reyaan, in connection with the murder case of Ahmad. The main accused, Muneer, who fired the shots, is yet to be arrested.
One of the accused, Reyaan said “Muneer knows the real motive. Ahmad’s behaviour towards us wasn’t good.” Another accused Junaid said, “I had no enmity towards Tanzil Ahmad, abetted Muneer out of friendship.”
