- Former Maharasthra Chief Minister and senior NCP leader Chhagan Bhujbal was granted bail on Wednesday in the Maharashtra Sadan case. Bhujbal will however still remain in jail due to a money laundering case registered against him by the ED.
- The PWD under Bhujbal had allegedly awarded sub-contracts to firms, in blatant violation of rules, in the Maharashtra Sadan case. The Anti Corruption Bureau had chargesheeted 17 people including three members of the Bhujbal’s familly in February 2016.
- In the construction of Maharashtra Sadan in Delhi, contractors had “earned 80 per cent profit”, while as per the government circular such contractors were entitled to “only 20 per cent gain”, ACB officials alleged.
