New Delhi, Feb 15 (IANS) A number of Muslim organisations and leaders on Friday condemned the suicide attack on a CRPF convoy in Jammu and Kashmir and underlined that the entire nation was standing with the security forces in this hour of grief.
Delhi's Jama Masjid's Shahi Imam Maulana Ahmed Bukhari in a statement extended his condolences to the families of the deceased.
He also raised questions over the security arrangements in the Kashmir Valley as well as on the efficiency of intelligence agencies "which seemed to lack coordination among themselves".
Pakistan-based militant outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) claimed responsibility for Thursday's attack on the Srinagar-Jammu highway in Pulwama district where a CRPF bus was rammed into by a suicide bomber driving a SUV packed with explosives.
Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind General Secretary Maulana Mahmood Madani too strongly condemned the attack and asserted that such terror strikes contradicted the holy spirit of Islam.
"All Indian citizens stand shoulder to shoulder with the bereaved families of the deceased troopers and are united in the condemnation of terrorists," Madani said.
All India Muslim Majlis-e-Mushawarat President Naved Hamid said "condemnation" would be a small word to denounce such a horrendous attack.
"My heart goes out to the families of the dozens of martyred CRPF personnel in Pulwama terror attack. The international community needs to take notice of this attack and it is time to unearth the real culprits," he added.
