The Class 10 results declared in Madhya Pradesh on Monday saw five students committing suicide, while another went missing from his house after failing the state board examinations.
According to a report published in Hindustan Times, two of the suicides were reported from Bhopal, while the other three students were from Sagar, Satna and Rewa.
“She did not leave behind any suicide note, but her father said she was upset over failing Class 10. A case has been registered and investigations are on,”Sub-inspector Jai Prakash Singh.
Praveen Rajak, a 16-year-old boy, hung himself from a tree in Sagar near his house on Monday. He was a resident of Gehuras village, and had failed in one subject.
Rewa saw the death of 16-year-old girl who immolated herself on Tuesday morning. The girl’s parents tried to douse the fire but by the time she was brought to the hospital she was declared dead.
Rahul Giri, A 17-year-old student, also committed suicide by hanging himself at his house.
Police have registered a matter in both the cases and investigations are on.
