The National Commission for Women (NCW) will on Wednesday submit a report to the Prime Minister’s Office in connection with the alleged gangrape of a 21-year-old in Motihari, Bihar.
One of the commission’s member, Sushma Sahu travelled to Motihari as part of a fact-finding mission, after an inquiry was constituted to look into the gangrape.
In the report we have mentioned that doctors in Bihar still continue to use the two finger test, which has already been banned. We have also sought details from the doctor who carries out medical tests on rape survivors because we suspect that several rape cases are simply brushed aside.Sushma Sahu, National Commission Women
She added that they have multiple issues with the local police which they will address when they meet Home Minister, Rajnath Singh.
The 21-year old was dragged out of her house and gangraped by five men nearly a week ago. The accused allegedly damaged her genitals after inserting a pistol and a wooden stick into her private parts.
