A report in Mumbai Mirror has unearthed newer allegations in the Sheena Bora murder case.

In an exclusive interview with the English daily, Peter Mukherjea’s siblings Gautam Mukherjea and his twin sister Shagun Mukherjea divulged a snippet of a conversation that had occurred at Byculla jail in October 2015 between Peter and Indrani Mukherjea.

Indrani who was in denial of her arrest reportedly told Peter:

I have been framed. I didn’t do it. Mikhail did it. I only disposed of the body.

Peter’s siblings were trying to convey the fact that in suspecting Peter’s involvement in the murder case, the investigators were headed in the wrong direction, insisting that Peter himself was stunned by the elaborate web of lies construed by Indrani.

There are over 250 witnesses in the case but not one statement indicts Peter. He was as taken aback by these disclosures about Indrani as anyone.

Peter’s siblings alleged that on the particular day that Indrani is alleged to have killed Sheena, Peter was in London. At this opportunity, Indrani was keener on spending a “dirty weekend” with her ex-husband Sanjeev Khanna than plotting Sheena’s death.

Mikhail who in psychiatric care due to a substance abuse problem had gone out with the driver, Shyamvar Rai. Upon his return, Indrani asked him about Sheena’s whereabouts. He told Indrani that he had murdered Sheena, the family revealed.

On the day of Indrani’s arrest, Peter got into the police jeep and asked her why didn’t she call Sheena and fly her back from LA to clear the misunderstanding, Gautam alleged.

Shagun added:

Indrani had spread a web of lies. For three years she said Sheena was alive, pretending she was in LA or married to a diamond merchant.

It was only when Indrani was booked under section 302 of the IPC that Peter understood that the allegations against Indrani were not based on any misunderstandings.
