Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia met the mayors of all the three civic bodies, who “are making all efforts to get the striking employees back to work.”

Sisodia made this announcement through Twitter after the meeting with the mayors and the Lt Governor Najeeb Jung ended. Apart from LG and the mayors, Sisodia also planned to meet Home Minister and Urban Development Minister.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday had offered Rs 550 crore to two municipal corporations, namely East and North branches of the civic body to pay off the salaries of protesters, but the MCD protesters refused to accept the sum.

General Secretary of the United Front of MCD Employees, Rajendra Mewati speaking exclusively to Prashant Chahal of The Quint said:

We will not accept this amount because this is given on a loan. After two months, the situation will return. Thus, the strike will be on till the time our demands are met. We will wait till the next Delhi High Court hearing which is scheduled on February 10.
