Kirpal Singh’s Sister Meets Arvind Kejriwal, Asks for a Probe

Kirpal Singh’s sister, Jagir Kaur met Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday and sought his support in bringing back her brother’s body from the neighbouring country.

Kirpal Singh died recently in a Pakistani jail in Lahore under mysterious circumstances. 50-year-old Kirpal Singh who was in a Pakistani jail for nearly 25 years on spying charges.

We want Kirpal’s body to be brought back to India from Pakistan...his body should be brought back for final rites so that we can get a sense of relief. In the meeting, the Chief Minister said he will help in bringing back the body here from Pakistan. He (Kejriwal) said that he would help us in whatever way he can.

Dalbir Kaur, who’s a sister of another Indian national, Sarabjit Singh who had also died in the Pakistani jail in May 2013 said:

In meeting with the Chief Minister, I sought help to put pressure on Pakistan to free Indian prisoners who are lodged in jail there.

Pakistan has said Kirpal died of a heart attack in the jail in Lahore, on 11April. Kirpal had allegedly crossed over to Pakistan through Wagah border in 1992 and was arrested.
