Only a couple of days after the brutal rape and murder of a law student in Perumbavoor, Kerala, a 20-year-old nursing student was allegedly raped by three people in an autorickshaw in Varkala, Thiruvananthapuram.
The police in Varkala has registered a case against the three accused based on the survivor’s account.
On 3 May, the girl bunked classes and went to Kollam with the autorickshaw driver whom she knew.
While returning home, two friends of the auto driver entered the auto. They drove the auto to a deserted area near Ayanthi bridge in Varkala where they raped her.
The girl suffered from fits and was found in a state of shock by people who rushed to the vehicle on hearing her cries for help.
She was admitted to the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital.
The incident comes days after a 30-year-old Dalit law student was found brutally raped and murdered in her home in Ernakulam, Kerala.
