Jayalalithaa Announces Rs 10 Lakh Ex Gratia for Dornier Victims

The ICG Dornier went missing on June 8, the remains of the three crew members were found on July 14.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa has announced an ex gratia of Rs 10 lakh to the families of the three crew members of the ICG791 Dornier aircraft incident.

It’s with great grief that I learnt of confirmation of death of the 3 brave young officers of ICG whose mortal remains were found along with wreckage of the Dornier aircraft that went missing. My heart goes out to families of 3 officers who lost their lives, have ordered ex gratia payment of Rs 10 lakh to each family.

The mortal remains of the crew members were found on July 14, over a month after the aircraft went missing.

The family members had sent DNA samples for a forensic test to the Government General Hospital in Chennai, according to a report in TOI, on July 17.

Yesterday, the DNA results confirmed that the remains were those of the three missing crew members: Subhash Suresh, DS Vidya Sagar and MK Soni, according to a TOI report.
