- An Indian Police Service (IPS) officer from the 2012 batch succumbed to a bullet injury under mysterious circumstances on Thursday, the police revealed.
- K Sasikumar, who hailed from Tamil Nadu, was posted as Assistant Superintendent of Police at Paderu. The incident took place inside his office chambers.
- The sound of a bullet shot was heard from his chamber in the wee hours of Thursday following which a sentry rushed in to find a bullet pierced through his right temple. Sasikumar was immediately rushed to a hospital but he succumbed to the injury midway, sources added.
- It is suspected that the officer may have committed suicide but there is no clarity on it yet, police sources said.
