  • The administration and the residents of drought-hit Marathwada are desperately pinning their hopes on the monsoon, as water in the area’s dams have dwindled to one percent.
  • However, the administration’s outlook is positive as the IMD’s forecast is good. Aurangabad Divisional Commissioner Umakant Dangal is confident that they will be able to supply water from the Jaikwadi damn till the monsoons arrive.
  • Around 3,600 water tankers are operational in the region and water is being supplied to the draught-affected villages and hamlets through them.
