Chennai, May 11 (IANS) DMK President M.K. Stalin on Saturday condemned the ruling AIADMK government in Tamil Nadu for asking veteran Communist Party of India (CPI) leader R. Nallakannu to vacate the house where he was living.
In a statement issued here, Stalin said Nallakannu (94) was living on rent in a house which belonged to Tamil Nadu Housing Board (TNHB).
As the TNHB wanted to implement a new plan there, it had sent notices to all the residents to vacate the premises following which Nallakannu recently shifted to another rented accommodation.
Considering Nallakannu's age and his integrity in the public life, the state government should allot a house to him immediately, Stalin said.
