Jivba Dalvi, Agassaim Police Inspector

The 62-year-old artist was summoned to the police station on Wednesday evening after he failed to appear on Monday due to his Europe tour.

“We are also in process of informing (Portuguese) embassy about the lookout notice issued against him,” Dalvi said. The notice circulated across the state on Thursday mentioned,

The above accused person is wanted in Agassaim police station. If any information (is received) on whereabouts regarding the accused person, (it) can be intimated to Agassaim police station.

The police had issued summons to him through the foreign embassy after police came to know on Wednesday that Remo has surrendered his Indian citizenship and embraced Portuguese nationality.

Remo is booked under Section 8 of Goa Children’s Act for allegedly verbally abusing and threatening the girl at the Goa Medical College and Hospital on 3 December, where she is undergoing treatment.

Jonah, Remo’s son, was summoned by police earlier in the day. “He was questioned for two hours and has been called again for questioning on December 26,” Dalvi said.

Mapusa Police have booked Jonah for rash driving and Agassaim police has filed a complaint against Remo for abusing the girl.

Police have already recorded the statement of the girl and her elder sister, both natives of the neighbouring Malvan town in Maharashtra.

The statement of the staff from GMCH who were on duty when incident happened has also been recorded.
