Former Karnataka Labour Minister Jumps To Death From Hospital Top

He was the labour minister in HD Deve Gowda’s government in 1994.

C. Gurunath, a former Minister reportedly committed suicide in Bengaluru by jumping from the second floor of Sagar Hospital on Thursday. The 67-year-old was formerly the Labour Minister in 1994 when H.D. Deve Gowda was the Chief Minister.

Reports mention that he was a diabetic and had been admitted to the hospital a few days ago and was to be discharged on Thursday. Passerby noticed him falling at around 1.30 p.m. and rushed him inside, but doctors declared him dead.

Gurunath hailed from Shabad in Kalaburagi and lived with his family at K.S. Layout in the city. The police said the family members were not around when he jumped of the second floor. The reason for his suicide is yet to be ascertained. A case has been registered at Tilak Nagar police station.
