- A security forces convoy was fired upon by suspected terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Bijbehara in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district. Three BSF jawans
– Head Constable Girish Kumar Shukla, Constable Mahinder Ram and Havaldar Dinesh – succumbed to their injuries in the attack. - Four people were critically injured. Home Minister Rajnath Singh has asked the Director General K K Sharma of the BSF to go to Bijbehara to assess the situation and extend help to those injured and to the families of the deceased.
- The convoy consisted of 23 vehicles, with jawans returning to work after their leaves. No terrorist group has claimed the responsibility of the attack however it could be the handiwork of Hizbul Mujahideen led by Burhan Wani.
