Former Agriculture Minister if Assam, Congress Minister Nilamoni Sen Deka’s alleged controversial statements about Human Resource Development (HRD) minister Smriti Irani and Prime Minister Narendra Modi will cost him a defamation suit.
The statement was made by him at a public meeting by Congress party in the Nalbari district of Assam on Sunday.
Reacting sharply to the remarks, BJP general secretary Ram Madhav said it was a “shameful assertion” by the Congress leader towards Irani.
Strongly condemning the remarks, Union Sports Minister and Assam unit BJP Chief Sarbananda Sonowal has said that the BJP-Assam will soon file a defamation case against him.
The comment outraged BJP members and supporters who took to social media to express condemnation.
