Former Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi’s convoy was attacked and an escort set on fire in Dumaria, Gaya District of Bihar on Thursday. The incident took place when Manjhi was on his way to meet those protesting LJP leader Sudesh Paswan’s murder.
The former CM later condemned the incident and demanded a speedy trial and asked the government to take strict action against the culprits. He further asserted that not he, but Suresh Paswan’s family was the target, as the culprits did not want them to get any government aid.
When asked about the attack, Manjhi said his convoy was blocked after they put boulders in the way, but his security managed to protect him after the first two vehicles of the convoy were torched.
LJP leader Suresh Paswan and his cousin were shot dead by suspected maoists on Wednesday evening in Gaya, Bihar.
