November 13 will be etched in Paris’ collective memory as the day life came to a standstill as a result of a horrifying ISIS terror attack. There were blasts in various popular locations, and gunmen opened fire at various places, including the Bataclan Theater in Paris, where the rock band Eagles of Death metal were playing.
The band has confirmed that they will be returning to the stage in Paris. Speaking to
Vice, Jesse Hughes, band co-founder, had said that he wanted his to be the first band to play in the Bataclan when it reopened. According to the site, the band will restart its European tour in February 2016.
The band members escaped physically unscathed, but their merchandising manager, Nick Alexander, and three members of their record label were killed in the gunfire. Many of those who had come for the concert were killed, including those who attempted to hide in the band’s dressing rooms.
Billboard has reported that “the Paris cameo will include co-founder Josh Homme, who often does not tour with the band and was not present at the Nov 13 attack.”
