New Delhi, Feb 12 (IANS) The Prime Minister's Economic Advisory Council (EAC-PM) on Monday discussed modalities to implement the ambitious National Health Protection Scheme under which Rs 5 lakh medical insurance cover will be provided annually to 10 crore poor and vulnerable families in the country.The scheme announced in this year's Union Budget will be implemented by the end of 2018."Keeping in view the National Health Scheme announced by the government in the Budget for 2018-19, EAC-PM discussed the possible modalities of implementing the scheme," an official statement said after the fourth meeting of the Council chaired by NITI Aayog Member Bibek Debroy.During the meeting, part-time member of the Council Shamika Ravi made a presentation on health reforms while Ashima Goyal -- another part-time member -- made a presentation on the draft "The Indian Fiscal - Monetary Framework: Dominance or Coordination?"World Bank's lead economist for India, Poonam Gupta, made a presentation on "World Bank Report on Indian Economy".--IANSvv/qd/mr
