Delhi Police Files Chargesheet Against Suspected al-Qaeda Members

They were chargesheeted on charges of motivating people to join the terror outfit in India.

  • Delhi Police on Friday filed a chargesheet against suspected al-Qaeda members, including Maulana Anzar Shah, on charges of motivating people to join the terror outfit in India.

  • The Special Cell of Delhi Police chargesheeted five arrested members of al-Qaeda in the Indian Sub-continent (AQIS) – Shah, Abdul Sami, Zafar Masood, Abdul Rehman and Mohammed Asif.

  • Police also chargesheeted 12 other operatives who are on the run. They have been booked under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. The next hearing will be held on 14 July.
