- Delhi High Court on Friday rejected a petition seeking review of its earlier order. It dismissed a plea for action against ex top-cop B S Bassi, who allegedly “influenced” the probe in the sedition case, against JNUSU President Kanhaiya Kumar and others.
- A bench of Chief Justice G Rohini and Justice Jayant Nath observed that there was no ground to review their order passed on 29 February. Petitioner Satish Pandey alleged that Bassi’s statement of the police not opposing Kanhaiya’s bail plea, could influence fair and transparent investigation in the matter.
- Delhi HC had granted interim bail to Kanhaiya for six months. Referring to media reports, the petitioner had said that his plea was based on the statement given by Bassi.
He said Bassi should clear his views on the statements allegedly given by him on 16 and 17 February.
