The Delhi government passed the Jan Lokpal Bill on Wednesday, the first day of the winter session of the sixth Legislative Assembly. The Bill will be tabled in the Assembly next week.
Deputy chief minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia tweeted about the development.
The Jan Lokpal was one of the six most anticipated bills in the Delhi Assembly’s winter session which started on Wednesday.
The Delhi Congress, under the leadership of Ajay Maken, were to hold a demonstration in front of Vidhan Sabha earlier on Wednesday to protest against the “AAP government’s failure” to bring the Jan Lokpal Bill.
The BJP too were planning to corner Arvind Kejriwal’s AAP into passing the Jan Lokpal Bill.
