Chennai, March 27 (IANS) DMK leader M.K.Stalin on Tuesday demanded Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K.Palaniswami and Deputy Chief Minister O.Panneerselvam clarify the state government's stand on India-based Neutrino Observatory (INO).
He also condemned the Central government for giving the environmental clearance for the Rs 1,500 crore project to come up in the picturesque Theni district.
In a statement issued here, Stalin said the Central government's environmental clearance for the project without holding any public hearing is the height of authoritarian rule, and wondered whether it consulted the Tamil Nadu government on the issue and what were the views given by the latter.
Questioning the silence of the AIADMK government, Stalin said Palaniswami and Panneerselvam should clarify to the government's stand on the project to the people.
