Gangster Chhota Rajan is all set to be deported to India by Tuesday night.
Chhota Rajan will be taken from Denpasar police station in Bali to the airport at 9 pm (local time) . His flight is scheduled to take off at 11 pm (local time), as clearance has been given by Indonesia’s Interpol unit.
However, there are reports of a volcanic eruption affecting all flight operations in Bali.
Meanwhile, in India, it is yet to be decided if he will be handed over to the CBI or the Mumbai police. While most cases against him are pending with the Mumbai police, government sources say the CBI might be given custody.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has said that Rajan will be brought to Mumbai and that all security arrangements are in place.
On Tuesday morning, Rajan responded to media queries over threat to his life from India’s most wanted Dawood Ibrahim. When asked if he was scared of Dawood, he replied, “Main nahi darta Dawood se.” (I am not afraid of Dawood Ibrahim)
