Kolkata, Sep 25 (IANS) Yet to make any headway in its bid to locate senior IPS officer Rajeev Kumar, the Central Bureau of Investigation on Wednesday wrote to state police Director General Virendra seeking to know the elusive officer's whereabouts.
The letter requested Virendra to share whatever information he possesses regarding Kumar's present whereabouts.
Earlier also the CBI sent two letters to Virendra seeking to know details about the leave taken by the present Additional Director General, Criminal Investigation Department as also the mobile phones he was using during his leave period when both his official cell phones were switched off.
Kumar's leave ended on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, a Calcutta High Court division bench heard 'in-camera Kaumar's anticipatory bail plea', following a request from his lawyers.
The bench of S. Munshi and S. Dasgupta will hear the case again on Thursday.
Kumar, under the CBI scanner in the Saradha and Rose Valley ponzi scams, on Tuesday moved his anticipatory bail application before a division bench of the Calcutta High Court alleging that the federal probe agency was "hounding" him.
Kumar headed the Special Investigation Team (SIT) in 2013 that probed the ponzi scams, and is accused of tampering with evidence.
The Supreme Court in May, 2014, handed over the case to the CBI.
