A massive fire gutted a three-storey building in Mansarovar Garden in West Delhi on late Monday afternoon. No casualty was reported, a Delhi Fire Service officer said.
The Delhi Fire Service, which received the call at 3:45 pm about the fire in the building near Zakhir hotel, sent 20 fire-tenders to douse the fire.
The building collapsed during the fire-fighting operation.
"Luckily, the firefighters escaped with their lives. The cooling operation is underway now. No casualty has been reported from the spot," the officer told IANS.
The building contained some bundles of equipment in the godown on the ground floor where the fire first broke out. The fire spread from the first floor to the third floor. Prima facie, the fire was caused due to electrical short circuit, the official added.
