A 40-year-old self-styled godman was arrested in Maharashtra on Tuesday for allegedly killing two persons.

The accused allegedly committed the murder because he was unable to return the money taken from them.

Abdul Aziz Chotu Shaikh, a resident of Sewri, was held in the morning. A bag comprising lemon, nails, turmeric, ash, kumkum, powder, black dolls, snake skin and other things were recovered from him. He used those materials to perform black magic.

On October 4, two unidentified bodies were found with injury marks in Bhiwandi crematorium and items used for black magic were scattered around them.

A case under relevant sections was registered and during probe, it came to light that the deceased were promised to be made rich by the accused using black magic.

As the plan did not materialise, the duo wanted Rs 4,100 each back from the accused which they paid in advance.

The accused allegedly used a hammer, knife and a stone.
