- Harkirat Singh, grandson of former Punjab Chief Minister Beant Singh passed away on Sunday in Chandigarh after he sustained bullet injuries in mysterious circumstances at his residence.
- Police are not ruling out any possible explanation behind the death as investigations were underway and Harkirat had received bullet injuries to his head.
- Harkirat, who was a village sarpanch in Ludhiana district, was taken to Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education & Research (PGIMER) by family members where he succumbed to his injury.
