The Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (ACJM) in Dhakrani has rejected the bail plea of BJP MLA Ganesh Joshi on Saturday. Joshi is currently in judicial custody for 14 days for allegedly injuring a police horse which, had to have one of its legs amputated.
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat on Friday announced there was no ‘political conspiracy’ behind Joshi’s arrest. The ruling party, Congress, on the other hand is alarmed and displeased with Joshi’s arrest.
Shaktiman, the police horse had to have her left hind leg amputated by veterinary doctors flown in from Mumbai as it suffered multiple fractures during the protest earlier this week. Joshi and his party members allegedly lathi charged in which, the horse got severely injured.
Doctors had to amputate her leg to stop the infection from spreading to others parts of her body.
