- At least nine persons have been injured in clashes between supporters of CPI(M) and Trinamool Congress (TMC) over exit poll results, in Hooghly district.The Arambag police late have arrested eight people, four of whom belonged to the TMC.
- CPI(M) leader Benoy Dutta has alleged that after watching the exit polls yesterday, a group of TMC workers barged into the houses of CPI(M) supporters at Adityapur village in Arambag and beat them up.
- On the other hand, TMC Arambag block president Swapan Nandi said, “A group of CPI-M supporters beat up our supporters and warned that we would be driven out of our village after the ‘Lal’ party came to form the government.”
