Over 64 students scored above 99 percent as the Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE) declared the ICSE/ISC result on 14 May. While 49 students got more than 99 percent in the Class 12 exam, 15 students scored more than 99 percent in the Class 10 exam.
In Class 12, the top score was 99.5 percent, bagged by seven students from across the country. The second position of 99.25 per cent was shared by 17 students. The third highest score was 99 percent, bagged by 25 people.
The overall pass percentage for Class 10 stands at 98.5 percent, while 96.12 percent passed Class 12, and girls have outperformed boys this year, officials told PTI.
Mumbai's Swayam Das was the Class 10 all-India topper with a score 99.4 percent. Seven students have topped the Class 12 exam with an identical score of 99.5 percent

A total of 1,83,387 students from 2,161 schools had appeared for the Class 10 examination, which was conducted in 61 written subjects. Of these, 22 were Indian languages, 10 foreign languages and one classical language. In Class 12, 80,880 students from 1,034 schools appeared for the exam, which was conducted in 48 written subjects. Of these, 14 were Indian languages, five foreign languages and two classical languages.
In terms of regions, the southern region recorded the highest pass percentage in Class 12 at 98.38 percent.
The southern (99.69 percent) and western regions (99.67 percent) have the highest pass percentage in Class 10. Schools abroad have recorded 100 percent pass percentage in Class 10 and 99.36 percent in Class 12.
The ICSE Examination 2018 were held from 26 February-28 March, and Indian School Certificate ISC Class 12 examination 2018 started from 7 February 2018 and 2 April 2018.
From 2018 onwards, CISCE has decided to reduce the cut-off for class 10 and 12 in the annual board exams. While ISC students need 35 percent, ICSE students need 33 percent to clear the board exams.
