Human Resource Development Minister Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank on Friday, 27 March, tweeted that he has directed the National Testing Agency to postpone NEET (UG) 2020 and JEE (Main) entrance exams till the last week on May.
In the Tweet, Dr Pokhriyal said that the ministry had taken the decision in order to avoid any inconvenience for students and parents, would have otherwise have had to travel to examination centers, at a time when the entire country is under lockdown to contain the spread of Coronavirus.
The statement tweeted by Dr Pokhriyal further mentions that a fresh date for the release of NEET 2020 (UG) admit cards, originally scheduled on 27 March, would be announced following a review of the situation after 15 April 2020.
NEET is a competitive examination conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to MBBS and BDS Courses and other undergraduate medical courses in approved/recognised Medical/Dental & other Colleges/Institutes in India. This includes institutes of eminence like, AIIMS, New Delhi, PGIMER, Chandigarh and JIPMER, Puducherry.
