The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will conduct the Class 10 board examinations in February-March next year. It is expected that CBSE may release the schedule of board examinations in December 2019.
The board has issued sample papers for different subjects for the students. With the help of these sample papers, students can get an idea of the exam pattern and can improve their preparation better.
Down below are the sample papers for English exam for CBSE Class 10 students and the exam pattern:
CBSE Class 10 English Sample Paper
CBSE Class 10 English question paper carries a total number of 80 marks. The time given to solve the paper is three hours. The paper is divided into three parts which are Section A, Section B and Section C. Different types of questions are asked in all sections. Students are advised to read all the guidelines written in the question paper thoroughly. Apart from this, the students have to write the answers to the questions in the fixed word limit.
- Section A: Reading
There are two reading passages in section A. Only questions related to these passages are asked. In this, it is important for the students to read these passages carefully and attempt the answers to the questions. A total number of 20 marks questions are asked in this section.
- Section B: Writing and Grammer
All the questions in this section are of 4 marks. It includes letter writing and article writing in this section. Questions like ‘Story Writing’ and ‘Fill in Correct Options’ are asked. A total number of 30 marks questions are asked in this section.
- Section C: Literature
A total number of 5 questions are asked in this section. Every question asked in this section comes from the students’ textbooks. Therefore, students are advised to go through every chapter of the book thoroughly. This section is of 30 marks.
