The Congress party has not won the state elections in Madhya Pradesh since 2003 and the party believes east-facing toilets in its headquarters in Bhopal are to blame for that, reported NDTV.
On surveying Indira Bhavan, the Congress’ headquarters since 2003, a Vaastu expert told the party that the restrooms of office-bearers were facing East, which according to him is the wrong side. He reportedly advised the party to “fix the flaw”.
KK Mishra, Chief spokesperson for Madhya Pradesh Congress, told the channel:
There is Vaastu dosh in the building...
While he said that the party needed the support of the public to defeat the incumbent BJP, they would also not shy away from seeking “divine support”.
When Rivals Agreed
Interestingly, BJP spokesperson. who also spoke to the channel, agreed with the Congress that Vaastu was no mere superstition, but insisted that the intervention will not be beneficial to the Congress.
I don’t think this is superstition, these are all Vedic sciences, but they are deep-rooted exercises. I don’t think this is going to benefit the Congress. They will have to come clean on their character firstDr Hitesh Bajpai, Spokesperson, BJP
