Sensex gained 281 points while Nifty traded above 11,050 as markets closed on Friday, 13 September.

Earlier in the day, equity markets opened in the green, a day after snapping a five-day winning run.

30-share BSE Sensex opened at 37,175.86, up more than 70 points, while the broader 50-share NSE Nifty breached the 11,000-mark in early trade.

Almost all the sectoral sub-indices were gaining in morning trade with Nifty Auto, at more than a percent, rallying the most.
