On Tuesday, the government declared a list of 27 cities from 12 Indian states, that it plans to include in its mission of smart cities.
Now, 60 cities in total feature in the ambitious plan of urban development adopted by the government. The government has embarked on a “long and complicated plan to revitalise the country’s urban infrastructure.”
Twenty cities, that had first made it to the list in January, have already completed the process of setting up special purpose vehicles, said NSN Murthy, Executive Director and leader for Smart Cities at PwC India.
