Around 33 kg of gold and Rs 8 lakh in cash, were stolen from the Manapurram Finance Company in Gurgugram, during an armed heist on Thursday.
Three people, including a bank guard and two customers, are said to have been injured during the heist.
The robbery took place at the busy New Railway Road area in Gurugram when robbers threatened the company staff and customers with guns and knives and exited with a massive bag filled with gold and cash.
The company is estimated to have lost around Rs 10 crore due to the incident.
“The robbers had firearms. The four staffers and customers were threatened with dire consequences and asked to remain quite at gun point and they also brandished knives,” police said.
Police are scanning the CCTV footage to identify the culprits and have sounded an alert through the city.
Gurugram police is yet to receive CCTV footage from Mannapuram. The company said that because servers are in Kerala, it will take some time for them to get the day’s footage.
