India’s batting coach Sanjay Bangar said that the batsmen let the team down in the fourth ODI against West Indies at North Sound on Sunday. The Men in blue failed to chase West Indies’ total of 189 runs and lost the match by 11 runs.
When asked about Dhoni’s innings of 54 runs from 114 balls, Bangar said that a batsman needs to assess the conditions and it’s difficult for someone to bat freely when wickets are falling at the other end.
Bangar also expressed that the fans should not be harsh on Ravindra Jadeja. The batting coach said that Jadeja bats lower down the order and therefore his performance gets magnified.
The all-rounder is yet to make a name for himself as a batsman, even after playing 135 ODIs.
