It has been more than two months since Pehlu Khan was killed by cow vigilantes in Alwar, Rajasthan. The incident still haunts Pehlu Khan's family. Pehlu Khan's son Irshad, who was with his father during the incident, says that he would never be able to get back to cattle rearing business.

"They beat us so much that my father lost his life from the injuries and I am still suffering from serious injuries. Since he died, we don't dare take our cattle there, we are scared to step out of the house," says Irshad.

According to Irshad, the financial condition of his family is very unstable. Frequent rounds to the court has cost him all the money his family had saved. He claims that the cow vigilantes attacked him and his father even though they had all the legal documents.

One 1 April 2017, Pehlu Khan had left home with his sons to buy cows from the cattle in Jaipur Cattle Fair. On his way back, he was attacked by some cow vigilantes. He succumbed to his injuries a few days later.
