The Congress and BJP were embroiled in a major face-off on Monday, after Rahul Gandhi accused the Prime Minister of being corrupt and having received multiple payments from Sahara and the Aditya Birla Group.
Law minister Ravi Shankar Prasad called the allegations baseless and said the “pure like the Ganges” Prime Minister was being maligned by Gandhi.
Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala also pressed the ruling party to answer questions about Modi taking bribes, as he pointed out the Sahara account books mention 9 payments of Rs 40 crore to the PM.
Prasad brought up the Augusta Westland chopper deal against the Congress supremos.
