The latest episode of Game of Thrones finally gave us a glimpse of Ghost, and fans are not happy with it. And rightly so.

One of the things that GoT fans have been impatiently waiting for since Jon Snow’s resurrection scene in Season 6 was his reunion with Ghost. The scene where he silently waits for Jon’s dead and limp body to come back to life, brought many fans to tears.

Jon’s furry companion has been a significant part of the show, and has saved him in several ‘dire’ situations.

Yes, fans Know that he has been around, as no news is often good news in George R R Martin’s universe.

That didn’t stop fans from missing him when season 8 premiere of Game of Thrones showed us every other reunion, but Jon and Ghost.

The running joke among fans has been that the dragons have eaten up all the budget so the showmakers couldn’t spare any CGI on Ghost the wolf.

The latest episode did try to make amends and give fans what they wanted: a scene with Jon and Ghost. What they ended up doing was this:

We Didn’t Get Enough Ghost!

Yes, Ghost the wolf looks almost like a photoshopped insert, an afterthought in this scene as Jon and his companions of night watch muse about life and the impending war with the dead.

It comes across as almost disrespectful for Ghost, with no one interacting with him on screen.

Will Ghost Survive The Battle of Winterfell?

This shoddily done scene may also be a bad omen.

As we know the very next episode is the much hyped Battle of Winterfell where our heroes (including Ghost, as obvious from the scene) would face off the white walkers.

Let’s just pray the showmakers didn’t remind us that he is alive, only to kill him off next episode.

Given the show’s track record, it wouldn’t be surprising if they did.

Hopefully the makers know how much that would piss off the fans.

Amen.
